This Black Forest cottage with shingled hipped roof stands lonely in the forest. Firewood is stacked on the sides, a ladder is leaning against the right wall of the house. In front of the house unfolds a lovely scenery, which contrasts well in color with the house stained in walnut. A doe mother and her fawn are grazing under green fir trees. The wooden cuckoo calls the number of hours on the hour (for example, at 3:00 pm 3 times) and once on the half hour. This clock has a manual strike shut-off. The dial, numerals and hands are also made of wood. The mechanical rake striking mechanism runs 24 hours.
This clock is made by August Schwer in Schönwald, an owner-operated family business founded in 1885.
