As soon as the cuckoo calls, the beer drinker lifts his glass to take another drink from his freshly tapped beer. Not only is there several beer barrels standing around, there is also an assortment of wurst hanging from the housefront to ensure that noone goes hungry! The faithful farm dog is "guarding" the wurst. The Black Forest farmhouse is lovingly decorated with a shingled hip roof, wagon wheels of wood mounted to the left and right of the cuckoo door,  miniature lattice windows and little red heart shutters and flower boxes both above and below the intricately crafted filigree balcony.  A half-timbered tudor wall adorns the bottom part of the housefront, providing a wonderful contrast to the walnut stained wood of the rest of the casing. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. The clockface, numbers and clockhands are all made of wood. This clock has a manual night switch off. The mechanical clockwork runs for a whole week. The Black Forest clock comes in an original box with complete instructions and a VdS certificate. This authentic scene is crafted by the Hekas company in Schonach, a family business that was founded in 1938 by Helmut Kammerer, and in the 3rd generation still stands for its original motto:  "Tradition with perfection".
