Even today many of the Black Forest farms have their own saw mill and own acreage and forest area. This Black Forest Cuckoo Clock, which is VDS-certified, depicts a farm with saw mill and is crafted with many special details and figurines: miniature lattice windows with  shutters and flower beds,  a two-tone wooden balcony with handcarved and handpainted roses mounted on it, and a handcarved roof with bell tower. Two woodsmen saw a log, and a dog, horses, geese and a rabbit complete the country picture.The solid-wood handpainted cuckoo bird calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. After the cuckoo calls on the hour, one of the two alternating melodies plays, and the water wheel turns and the folklore dance figurines turn to the music on the balcony.  The pine trees, rocks and woodstacks all work together to create a beautifully handcrafted decoration for your home.

The Cuckoo Clock has an automatic night-switch-off in addition to the manual night-switch-off. Clockface, Numbers, and Hands are all made of wood. The mechanical clock movement runs for 8 days. The clock is delivered in an original box with complete instructions and VDS-certificate.  This special clock is crafted by the Hekas company in Schonach, a family business that was founded in 1938 by Helmut Kammerer, and in the 3rd generation still stands for its original motto:  "Tradition with perfection".
