A quaint half-timbered Black Forest House with woodchopper is depicted on this original Cuckoo Clock from the Black Forest, with its traditional Black Forest hip roof. The wooden case is decorated with a filigree half-timbered design, a balcony and a rounded arch window with little blue heart shutters and flower boxes. The housefront is lovingly crafted with pine trees, a wooden bench, a water wheel enclosed in a wooden wall, a water trough, and a woodchopper. Beautifully delicate trimming adorns the bottom of the house to provide a perfect decoration. The solid-wood cuckoo bird calls on the full hour with the number of the hour (e.g. 3 times at 3 p.m.) and calls once on the half-hour. Everytime the cuckoo calls, the woodchopper chops with his ax. After the cuckoo calls on the hour, one of the two alternating melodies play, while the water wheel moves to the music and the folklore dancers dance on the balcony. This clock model has an automatic  night-switch-off. Clockface, numbers and Clock hands are made of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs for a whole week.
