The Black Forest girl rings the dinner bell  when the cuckoo calls on this original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock, with shingled Black Forest roof, bell tower and roof gable. Much love to detail is shown on this clock, including several balconies with detailed filigree woodwork, miniature lattice windows with checkered curtains and shutters, little bee hives on the balcony, and a suggested white stone wall on the housefront. In front of the house you will find painted carved pine trees, the farm dog, the cat sitting on the wooden bench. The Black Forest girl in her folklore dress rings the bell with the cuckoo, and the handcarved and handpainted musicians complete the colorful picture. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour.  During the Cuckoo call, the girl pulls the rope to ring the bell for dinner.  After the Cuckoo calls on the hour, one of the two alternating melodies plays. While the music plays, the musicians sway back and forth and the folklore dance figurines on the balcony  turn to the music. The clockface, numbers and clockhands are all made of wood. This clock has an automatic night switch off between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. The mechanical clockwork runs for a whole week. The clock comes in an original box with complete instructions.
