This is the perfect gift for a horselover - a little Black Forest house with the traditional Black Forest roof. The solid-wood case is stained in walnut, and features the local blacksmith and a beautifully carved horse waiting patiently for his new horse shoe.  Miniature lattice windows with little red shutters and painted flowerboxes adorn the clockfront, as well as a pine tree, a wielding hammer, a blacksmith, and a horse--all handcarved. The carved block underneath the clockface is a real eyecatcher. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour, during which the blacksmith hammers away at his horse shoe. This clock has a manual night switch off. Clockface, numbers and hands are all made of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs for 24 hours. The clock comes in an original box with complete instructions. This classic model is crafted by the Anton Schneider company in Schonach, a family business that had its beginning in a farmhouse in 1848, and has grown to be one of the largest cuckoo clock producers in the area.
