A wood chopper diligently chops the firewood on this original Black Forest cuckoo clock with carved hipped roof and round arch windows with red heart shutters.  The wooden cuckoo calls the number of hours on the hour (e.g. 3 times at 3 p.m.) and once on the half hour. At the same time the woodchopper moves his arm. After the cuckoo call, one of the two melodies sounds every half hour, to which the water wheel and the dancers dressed in Black Forest costumes on the balcony also move. Next to the house on a bridge there is a St. Bernard dog and there are fir trees, wood piles as well as mushrooms. The house wall and the masonry surrounding the water wheel are on real stones. This clock model has a manual night shut-off. Dial, numerals and hands are also made of wood. The mechanical rake striking mechanism runs 24 hours. This clock is manufactured by the company Hekas in Schonach, which was already founded in 1938 by Helmut Kammerer and stands for "tradition in perfection" in the 3rd generation.
