This original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock mirrors the natural setting of the forest . The cuckoo looks down from above on his nest. The two young birds are his own, although he let other birds do all of the hard work of raising them! The wood case of this clock is framed with carved wooden beams on which single, hugh carved Edelweiß are bluming.  The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. This clock has a manual night switch off. Clockface, numbers and hands are all made of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs for a week. This classic model is crafted by the August Schwer company in Schönwald, a family business that has been around since 1885.
