This original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock is a beautifully handcarved hunter design which is one of the oldest and most traditional hunter carving designs. The solid wood casing is stained in dark walnut and framed with very detailed handcarving that is also stained in very dark walnut. The proud stag head is enthroned above the clockface. A hunter's bag, crossed rifles and a hunter's horn are mounted below the clockface. A wild rabbit and bird of prey are hanging like trophies on each side of the clockface.  The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. The clockface, numbers and clockhands are all made of wood. This clock has a manual night switch off. The mechanical clockwork runs for a whole week. The clock comes in an original box with complete instructions and a VdS certificate.  This traditional model is crafted by the Hönes company in Titisee, a family business deeply rooted in the century-old tradition of the clockmaking industry, and is well known for its high-quality Black Forest craftmanship.
