The hunting horn is blown and on this original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock, the prey from a successful hunting trip is proudly displayed--wild rabbit and pheasant are excellently carved. The deer head is majestically enthroned between the crossed guns. The wood case shines darkly with a walnut stain. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. After the cuckoo call on the hour, one of the two alternating melodies plays. The dancing pairs in their folklore costumes dance to the music on the balcony above the cuckoo. This clock has a automatic night switch off. Clockface, numbers and hands are all made of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs for a week. This classic model is crafted by the August Schwer company in Schönwald, a family business that has been around since 1885.
