The farm dog Bello watches the landlord Josef as he diligently swings the axe to keep firewood in stock. The traditional Black Forest house has a shingled hipped roof and a plaster wall.  The wooden cuckoo calls out the number of hours on the hour (e.g. 3 times at 3 p.m.) and once on the half hour, while the man busily chops the wood. This model has a manual night switch-off. The dial, numerals and hands are also made of wood. The mechanical striking mechanism runs for 24 hours. The cuckoo clock comes in its original box with instructions for use and VDS certificate. The traditional Black Forest clock is manufactured by the Hekas company in Schonach, which was founded in 1938 by Helmut Kammerer and is now in its 3rd generation of "tradition in perfection".
