This lovingly designed cuckoo clock with many small details shows us woodchopper Ludwig splitting wood. Two Saint Bernard dogs watch him at work and long for the end of the day. To the music the water wheel turns and Ludwig splits wood. On the left we see a doghouse, behind it there is a ladder leaning on the wall of the house. A bunny and a beautifully carved fir tree complete this group. The idyllic scene on the right side shows two deer between fir trees as well as a wooden well and a pile of wood. The Black Forest house itself has a hipped roof covered with grey shingles, the roof of the small doghouse is made of the same shingles. All three parts of the house front are painted white, embellished by an elaborate half-timbered construction. Another eye-catcher is the balcony, decorated with wagon wheels, on which dancers in Black Forest folklore dress turn to the music.

The cuckoo made of wood opens the door at the hour, tweets and calls out the number of the hour with an echo. Afterwards one of the 12 alternating melodies are played. On the side you will find a switch to turn off the music separately, or both the cuckoo and the music. Through a light sensor the clock is automatically quiet after dark, although the clock keeps running. This clock is run by a quartz battery clockwork that uses three 1,5V batteries - Size C. The clock is delivered in an original box with complete instructions. The cuckoo clock is produced by the Black Forest company Engstler, a family-run business that has been well-known for generations both for its tradition and technical excellence.
