An industrious woodchopper busy at work is depicted on this original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock.  Surrounded by Black Forest pines and a water wheel, the busy farmer is chopping his firewood for the winter.The carved Black Forest hip roof is extragavantly decorated with delicate edging. The housefront is decorated with many small details such as pine needles, miniature windows with shutters adorned with hearts, and a carved wooden base. The cuckoo opens the door at the full hour, "tweets", and calls with Echo, telling the number of the hour. After the cuckoo call, one of the 12 alternating melodies plays, while the water wheel turns and the woodchopper chops his wood. The clock has a manual night switch off, and also a light sensor to automatically turn off the cuckoo  and music sound when it is dark. The Quartz battery clockwork is run by three 1,5V Size C batteries that are delivered with the clock. The cuckoo clock comes in an original box with complete instructions. This clock model is produced by the Trenkle company in Simonswald, a family business that has been around for the last 50 years, and prides itself in combining the traditional handcrafting with new technical developments.
