An industrious woodchopper busy at work is depicted on this original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock with shingled hip roof. As he works, visitors come out of the forest to greet him. The deer hide between the pine trees and water wheel, so that the farm dog doesn't discover them. The wood case is adorned with a roofed dormer corner, and a woodshed on the side. Miniature windows with green shutters decorated with hearts and flower boxes, as well as a balcony with light-colored natural wood elements decorate the housefront. The house design also includes a stone wall pattern on the natural wood on the bottom part of the clock, as well as a carved wooden base. The cuckoo opens the door at the full hour, "tweets", and calls with Echo, telling the number of the hour. After the cuckoo call, one of the 12 alternating melodies plays, while the woodchopper chops his wood, the water wheel turns and the little children figurines dance on the balcony. The clock has a manual night switch off, and also a light sensor to automatically turn off the cuckoo  and music sound when it is dark. The Quartz battery clockwork is run by three 1,5V Size C batteries that are delivered with the clock. The cuckoo clock comes in an original box with complete instructions. This clock model is produced by the Engstler company, a traditional family business that stands for tradition and technical innovation.
