The bavarian couple in their folklore costumes are featured on this original Black Forest House Cuckoo Clock. The housefront is lovingly decorated and crafted, with the natural color of the house wall contrasting to the darker filigree woodworking. The housefront is also adorned with little lattice windows with red shutters and flower boxes. A beautifully handcarved and handpainted edelweiss pendulum and decorative wooden weights complete the elegant picture.  The cuckoo opens the door at the full hour, "tweets", and calls with Echo, telling the number of the hour. After the cuckoo call, one of the 12 alternating melodies plays, during which the man lifts his beer mug, and the water wheel turns to the music.  The clock has a manual night switch off, and also a light sensor to automatically turn off the cuckoo  and music sound when it is dark. The Quartz battery clockwork is run by three 1,5V Size C batteries that are delivered with the clock. The clock comes in an original box with complete instructions. This clock model is produced by the Trenkle company in Simonswald, a family business that has been around for the last 50 years, and prides itself in combining the traditional handcrafting with new technical developments.
