This original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock is a beautiful Black Forest House with shingled Black Forest roof. The solid wood case stained in walnut, with a lighter, half-timbered housefront, which provides a beautiful contrast to the darker wood. The shingled Black Forest roof is stained in red, and the housefront is decorated with Edelweiß flowers below the balcony. Many lovingly handcrafted details are shown on this clock, including pine trees, a water trough, several beer barrels, a bavarian woodchopper and woodstack, as well as a water wheel. The cuckoo opens the door at the full hour, "tweets", and calls with Echo, telling the number of the hour. After the cuckoo call, one of the 12 alternating melodies plays. During the music, the folklore figurines dance in a circle on the balcony and the water wheel turns to the music. The clock has a manual night switch off, and also a light sensor to automatically turn off the cuckoo  and music sound when it is dark. The Quartz battery clockwork is run by three 1,5V Size C batteries that are delivered with the clock. The clock comes in an original box with complete instructions. This clock model is produced by the Trenkle company in Simonswald, a family business that has been around for the last 50 years, and prides itself in combining the traditional handcrafting with new technical developments.
