An industrious woodchopper at work is shown on this Black Forest Cuckoo Clock with shingled chalet roof. A special feature of this beautiful clock is the delicate wooden filigree on the roof and on the wooden case. The rounded lattice window with red heart shutters and flowers, as well as a stone wall depicted on the wooden housefront, completes the authentic picture. Pine trees and a water trough, as well as a woodstack and colorful mushroom, decorate the housefront. Underneath the clockface, a water wheel with a little picket fence and a woodchopper are depicted. The cuckoo opens the door at the full hour, "tweets", and calls with Echo, telling the number of the hour. After the cuckoo call, one of the 12 alternating melodies plays. During the music, the woodchopper chops his firewood and the water wheel turns to the music. The clock has a manual night switch off on the side, and also a light sensor to automatically turn off the cuckoo and music sound when it is dark. The Quartz battery clockwork is run by three 1,5V Size C batteries that are delivered with the clock. The cuckoo clock comes in an original box with complete instructions. This clock model is produced by the Trenkle company in Simonswald, a family business that has been around for the last 50 years, and prides itself in combining the traditional handcrafting with new technical developments.
