Heidi with grandfather and Geißenpeter can be seen on this Black Forest cuckoo clock with a shingled chalet roof. The wooden case is stained walnut and stands on a light-colored base. The façade is adorned with small windows with green shutters and frilled guards. Goats graze in the courtyard. On the hour, the cuckoo opens the door, chirps and calls out the time with an echo. 
Then one of 12 different melodies sounds. There is a switch on the side with which the cuckoo can be switched off manually. A light sensor ensures that the sound stops automatically in the dark, but the time continues to run. The clock is equipped with a quartz movement and requires three 1.5V C batteries (included). The Heidihaus is manufactured by the Trenkle company, a family business in Simonswald that has been in existence for half a century and whose trademark is to combine proven craftsmanship with state-of-the-art technology.
