When Heidi is five years old, Dete takes her to her grandfather, the Alm-Öhi, on an alpine pasture in the Swiss mountains. Heidi and Peter learn to read together, go to school and enjoy the view from this cuckoo clock. The cuckoo opens the door on the hour, chirps and calls out the number of hours with an echo. Then one of the 12 different melodies sounds. There is a switch on the side to turn off the music separately or together with the cuckoo manually. A light sensor automatically switches off the sound in the dark, but the time continues to run. The clock face and hands are made of wood. This clock is operated by a battery-powered quartz movement that requires three 1.5V size C batteries (supplied). The cuckoo clock comes in its original box with instructions for use.
