The Simonswald-based family business Trenkle combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. The new KuckuShine models from Trenkle set new standards for Black Forest clocks. These clocks have an illuminated front that is activated when the cuckoo calls. On the hour, the cuckoo opens the door, chirps and calls out the number of hours with an echo, followed by one of 12 melodies. A light sensor automatically switches off the sound in the dark while the time continues to run. The clock face and hands are made of wood and the clock is powered by a battery-operated quartz movement. The cuckoo clock comes with batteries and instructions in the original box.
