This cuckoo clock consists of a picturesque, traditional Black Forest house with a bell tower. The depicted scene reminds of the time of mining in the Black Forest: in front of the entrance to the mine a miner is working the quartz rock. A St. Bernard dog sits at his side, and two deer can be seen in the nearby forest.   
The cuckoo opens the door on the hour, chirps and calls out the number of hours with an echo. Then one of the 12 different melodies sounds, and the crystals in the rock in and in front of the mine entrance begin to sparkle bluishly. In addition, the water wheel turns and the dancers on the balcony dance to the music.  On the side there is a switch to turn off the music separately or together with the cuckoo. Due to a light sensor, when it gets dark, the sound is automatically off, but the time continues to run. This clock is powered by a quartz movement that requires three 1.5V size C batteries.
