The beautiful Black Forest girl in her traditional folklore dress and her companion, the Black Forest Clock Carrier, are enjoying a beer together as they relax in front of the homestead, a Black Forest Farmhouse with shingled hip roof and bell tower.   A balcony with miniature windows with shutters and little painted flowers adorn the top portion of the housefront.  The bottom portion of the housefront is partially done in white to depict a white wall, and small stones are worked into the whitewash. Many decorative details complete the farmhouse yard, including a huge carved and painted pine tree, a woodshed for the winter firewood, a water wheel, and a small roofed terrace with the faithful St. Bernhard farm dog. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. After the Cuckoo calls on the hour, one of the two alternating melodies plays. While the music plays, the clock carrier and girl lift their glasses to drink, and the water wheel turns as  the folklore dance figurines twirl on the balcony  to the music. The clockface, numbers and clockhands are all made of wood. This clock has an automatic night switch off. The mechanical clockwork runs for a whole week. The clock comes in an original box with complete instructions.
