Marianna has the first drink of the day on this Black Forest Cuckoo Clock. Pine trees, tufts of grass, and stacks of firewood adorn the front of this Black Forest house with shingled hip roof, with its dormer window and chimney. The wood case is stained in a light color and decorated partially in half-timbered framework. Miniature windows with lacey curtains, red shutters and flower boxes decorate the front of the house. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. During the cuckoo call, Marianne turns back and forth with a beer stein in her hand. After the cuckoo calls on the full hour, one of the two alternating melodies plays. During the music, the two men relaxing in front of the house lift their glass to the music, while the water wheel turns, and the folklore dance figurines turn to the music on the balcony.  This model has a manual night-switch off. Clockface, numbers and clock hands are made of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs for a week. This classic model is crafted by the Anton Schneider company in Schonach, a family business that started on a farm in 1848 and has developed into one of the largest cuckoo clock producers in the Black Forest.
