This original Black Forest cuckoo clock, with carved hip roof, is a typical beer drinker scene. The wood case is stained in walnut, and decorated with beautiful handpainted flowers. The house front is  decorated with miniature windows with little green shutters and little flower boxes. In front of the house near the water wheel, there is a pine tree to provide shade. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour, to which the beerdrinker lifts his glass.  After the cuckoo call on the hour and half-hour, one of the two alternating melodies plays. The water wheel and the folklore dance figurines also move to the music. This clock has a manual as well as an automatic night switch off. Clockface and hands are all made of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs for 24 hours. This classic model is crafted by the Anton Schneider company in Schonach, a family business that had its beginning in a farmhouse in 1848, and has grown to be one of the largest cuckoo clock producers in the area.
