Product info

The "Zastler Hütte" on the Feldberg mountain at 1256 meters over sea level in the Black Forest is depicted on this Cuckoo Clock. The Zastler Hütte, with its typical Black Forest roof with handcrafted shingled hip roof is a well-loved location for hikers and skiers in the Black Forest. The Black Forest girl with her traditional red-balled hat and the Clock Carrier are enjoying a cool beer together at a table in front of the house. One table is still empty and waiting for the hiker coming around the bend. The german shepherd, who was already eyeing the delicious Black Forest bacon on the table, has to bow out to the hiker's arrival. The Zastler Hütte is richly decorated with colorful flowers, a water trough, a water wheel, and the figurines at the table that raise their glasses as the music plays on the hour. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour.   After the Cuckoo calls on the hour, one of the two alternating melodies plays. While the music plays, folklore dance figurines  turn on the balcony, the water wheel turns, and the figurines lift their glass in time to the music. The clockface, numbers and clockhands are all made of wood. This clock has a manual night switch off., but also an automatic night switch off between 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.  The Clockface, Clockhands and Numbers are all of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs for a whole week. The clock comes in an original box with complete instructions. This cuckoo clock masterpiece is crafted by the Hönes company in Titisee, a family business deeply rooted in the century-old tradition of the clockmaking industry, and is well known for its high-quality Black Forest craftmanship.
