The eagle, a symbol of power and victory, is spreading its wings on the top of this original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock. Left and right of the clockface, the hunter is waiting patiently with his dog and the mountain goat is observing the whole scene. The wood case is stained in walnut with a special color-technique and decorated with richly detail-carved oak leaves. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of hours on the hour (e.g. 3 times at 3 p.m.) and once on the half hour. After the cuckoo call, one of the two melodies sounds every hour. To the music, the couples dressed in Black Forest costumes dance on the balcony. This model has a manual night shut-off. The dial, numerals and hands are also made of wood. The mechanical rake striking mechanism runs for one week. 
This clock model is made by the Hönes company in Titisee, which is deeply rooted in the century-old tradition of the clockmaking industry, and is well known for its high-quality Black Forest craftmanship.
