This original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock depicts a capricorn goat family. He is standing atop a rock formation, watching how the mother cares for her young. The walnut-stained wood case is decorated with handcarved branches and large Edelweiß flowers. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. This clock has a manual night switch off. Clockface, numbers and hands are all made of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs for a week. This classic forest scene is crafted by the Gerhard Schwer company in Schonach, a family business that has been around since 1900.
