This original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock is a traditional handcarved Hunter Design. The light-walnut stain on the solid-wood casing is framed by carved oak leaves. The stag head with its handcarved antlers is enthroned above the clockface, along with the traditional crossed rifles. On each side of the clockface you can see the wild rabbit and pheasant perched watchfully. A hunter's horn wrapped around the clockface and the hunter's bag finish up the beautiful carving. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. After the cuckoo calls on the full hour, one of the two alternating melodies plays. The folklore dance figurines turn to the music on the balcony. This model has an automatic night-switch off. Clockface, numbers and clock hands are made of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs for a week. The clock comes in an original box with complete instructions. This classic model is crafted by the Anton Schneider company in Schonach, a family business that started on a farm in 1848 and has developed into one of the largest cuckoo clock producers in the Black Forest.
