This Black Forest house with hipped roof and bell tower captivates with the pretty contrast between light and dark wood and the half-timbering on the gable. It shows a blacksmith who is shoeing a horse.                                                             
The wooden cuckoo calls the number of hours on the hour (e.g. 3 times at 15:00) and once on the half hour. In time with this, the farrier strikes the horseshoe. After the cuckoo call, one of the two melodies sounds every half hour. To the music, the water wheel turns and the dancing couples dressed in traditional costumes on the balcony. This model has a manual night shut-off. The mechanical rake strike mechanism runs 24 hours.
This cuckoo clock is made by the Hönes company in Titisee, which is deeply rooted in the centuries-old tradition of clockmaking and stands for Black Forest craftsmanship.
