This original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock with carved hip roof and bell tower depicts the hunting ground of the hunter. Intricately carved figurines such as forest animals and trees, as well as natural materials such as moss and branches, provide a beautiful decoration for this clock. This wood case is stained in walnut and is designed with wooden balconies and a solid, carved mountain cliff. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. While the cuckoo calls, the hunter lifts his binoculars to his eyes. After the cuckoo call on the hour, one of the two alternating melodies plays, and the water wheel turns. This clock has an automatic night switch off. Clockface, numbers and hands are all made of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs for a week. This classic model is crafted by the August Schwer company in Schönwald, a family business that has been around since 1885.
