Product info

This original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock is a beautifully carved Black Forest House depicting a hunter stalking his prey with his loaded rifle. Stag, deer, and their young, as well as a rabbit and a wild boar are all hiding on the corner of the house between dark pine trees. The hunter's lodge is beautifully carved underneath the craftfully carved Black Forest roof. The miniature lattice windows with red heart shutters and flower boxes add to the charm of this clock. The balcony underneath the cuckoo bird, as well as the balcony doors on the sides, are backed with contrasting white color, and provide a wonderful frame for the Black Forest folklore dancers that turn to the music.  A majestic stag head is enthroned above the cuckoo door. A little squirrel is also perched above the water wheel on the housefront. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour.  After the cuckoo call on the full hour, one of the two alternating melodies plays, and folklore dance figurines turn to the music on the balcony.  The water wheel also turns to the music. The clockface, numbers and clockhands are all made of wood. This clock has an automatic night switch off. The mechanical clockwork runs for a whole week. The clock comes in an original box with complete instructions and a VDS-certificate.

This beautifully detailed clock is crafted by the Hekas company in Schonach, a family business that was founded in 1938 by Helmut Kammerer, and in the 3rd generation still stands for its original motto:  "Tradition with perfection".
