A kissing couple in love is depicted on this original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock. The little cat looks on from her perch on the wagon. Sehr detailed handwork is shown on the shingled hip roof and the bell tower atop the roof. The half-timbered look in white provides a loving contrast to the richly stained housefront. Little lattice windows with flower boxes and heart shutters, as well as a balcony with flowers, adorn the front of the house. On the sides of the house, the winter woodsheds are full of the chopped firewood. A water wheel and a carved pine tree finish the beautiful scene. The Cuckoo opens the door on the full hour, tweets, and then calls the number of the hour with an Echo. Afterwards one of the 12 alternating melodies are played. During the music, the couple takes the opportunity to steal some kisses, the water wheel turns and folklore dance figurines dance on the balcony to the music. On the side you will find a switch to turn off the music separately, or both the cuckoo and the music. Through a light sensor the clock is automatically quiet after dark, although the clock keeps running. This clock is run by a quartz battery clockwork that runs on three 1,5V batteries - Size C (delivered with clock except for in the USA). The clockface, numerals and hands are all of wood. The clock comes in an original box with complete instructions.
