A romantic forest hideaway is depicted on this Black Forest Cuckoo Clock with shingled chalet roof. The wood case is designed in light colors and decorated with half-timbered framework. Miniature windows with red shutters and curtains decorate the front of the house. The house is framed with majestic pine trees, and the forest animals are scattered among the forest around the house. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. After the cuckoo calls on the full hour, one of the two alternating melodies plays. During the music, the water wheel turns, and the folklore dance figurines turn to the music on the balcony. This model has an automatic night-switch off. Clockface, numbers and clock hands are made of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs for a week. This classic model is crafted by the Anton Schneider company in Schonach, a family business that started on a farm in 1848 and has developed into one of the largest cuckoo clock producers in the Black Forest.
