An industrious woodchopper at work is depicted on this quaint little Black Forest cuckoo clock house with romantically curved and shingled Black Forest roof. Many lovingly handcrafted details adorn the housefront: A covered woodshed with winter firewood stacked up underneath, a wooden bench, the farm dog and his pup in front of their doghouse, and of course, the hardworking woodchopper, who chops wood each time the cuckoo calls. Miniature windows with red heart shutters and little painted flowerbeds are placed directly under the two-tone balcony, and on both sides of the cuckoo door are beautiful two-tone wooden doors with Edelweiß woodworking on them. A wooden wall of lighter wood, with stone ornaments provides a wonderful contrast to the walnut stain of the rest of the house facade.  Two handcarved and green-stained pine trees provide a backdrop to the idyllic scene. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. This clock has a manual night switch off. Clockface, numbers and hands are all made of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs for a whole week. The clock comes in an original box with complete instructions.  This clock model is produced by the Black Forest company Engstler, a family-run business that has been well-known for generations both for its tradition and technical excellence.
