On the edge of the forest in the Black Forest stands this half-timbered cottage with beautiful peasant paintings. Two musicians announce the end of the hunt under the cottage and play their horns. The wooden cuckoo calls the number of hours on the hour (e.g. 3 times at 3.00 pm) and once on the half hour. After the cuckoo call, one of the two melodies sounds, to which the water wheel then turns and the musicians play. This model has a manual night switch-off. The dial, numerals and hands are also made of wood. The mechanical striking mechanism runs for 24 hours. This clock is manufactured by the Hekas company in Schonach, which was founded in 1938 by Helmut Kammerer and is now in its 3rd generation of "tradition in perfection".
