Farm life in the Black Forest has not always been easy, but solidarity was very strong.

A Black Forest house was inhabited by the entire family, side by side with the livestock. Each family member knew his or her daily chores. Everything was produced or repaired manually with a lot of dexterity. Many families also had a side business - clockmaking.

Many of our cuckoo clocks tell us a story of traditional life in the Black Forest.
