Heidi feels right at home here in her mountain home with her grandpapa and the goat shepherd Peter, with one of his goats.  The solid wood case is designed in a swiss chalet style and left in a natural wood color. Many beautifully crafted filigree overlays created a beautiful housefront in contrasting colors, including a detailed trimming on the roof front. Miniature lattice windows with shutters and flower boxes, as well as a depicted stone wall, a water wheel, and two carved and handpainted pine trees adorn the housefront. In front of the chalet, Heidi watches carefully as her grandpapa makes chees from the goat milk that Peter brought him. A special feature is the beautifully crafted wooden pendulum with Edelweiss Flowers. The cuckoo opens the door at the full hour, "tweets", and calls with Echo, telling the number of the hour. After the cuckoo call, one of the 12 alternating melodies plays. During the music, the water wheel turns, and grandpapa churns the milk in time to the music. The clock has a manual night switch off, and also a light sensor to automatically turn off the cuckoo  and music sound when it is dark. The Quartz battery clockwork is run by three 1,5V Size C batteries that are delivered with the clock. The clock comes in an original box with instructions. This clock model is produced by the Trenkle company in Simonswald, a family business that has been around for the last 50 years, and prides itself in combining the traditional handcrafting with new technical developments.
