The Chalet house roof is handcrafted with gray wooden shingles, as well as a chimney and a beautiful trimming of little red hearts. The depicted stone wall on the housefront, as well as the miniature lattice windows with green heart shutters and flower boxes provide a beautiful contrast to the walnut stain of the rest of the house. The cuckoo opens the door at the full hour, "tweets", and calls with Echo, telling the number of the hour. After the cuckoo call, one of the 12 alternating melodies plays. The clock has a manual night switch off, and also a light sensor to automatically turn off the cuckoo and music sound when it is dark. The Quartz battery clockwork is run by three 1,5V Size C batteries that are delivered with the clock. The clock comes in an original box with complete instructions. This clock model is produced by the Trenkle company in Simonswald, a family business that has been around for the last 50 years, and prides itself in combining the traditional handcrafting with new technical developments.
